I was looking at a property in Crows Nest in Sydney and came across a company called http://www.PropertyNow.com.au for owners looking to sell themselves
    http://www.realestate.com.au/property-townhouse-nsw-crows+nest-119814127

Has anyone on this site used this service before? what are your thoughts on the price they charge $440 until sold? ($220 extra for a domain.com.au listing which I also found – http://www.domain.com.au/property/for-sale/townhouse/nsw/crows-nest/?adid=2011986940&sp=1 )

I’m assuming you have to provide your own photos etc but what are your thoughts on listing it via this site?

Lots of similar companies around which use this to circumvent the realestate.com.au ‘agents only’ rule.

Just another option to those selling their homes.

Yep – agree with CJ, not entirely uncommon and can be a good way to purchase.

    Cheers

Corey, it’s not fair to say we circumvent the agent only rule on realestate.com.au, as we are indeed an agent and in fact we are licensed throughout Australia as an agent, which costs us thousands of dollars a year.

The people doing the circumventing really were the original agents whom pressured realestate.com.au to resist the perfectly appropriate use of realestate.com.au for the general public, so that agents retained a monopoly.

I do get what you were meaning, but the “circumventing” part has a bit of a negative connotation to people who don’t understand what happened. If anyone would like me to and if editors and moderators allow, then I am happy to outline our entire system so that no on needs to guess about it and so members of PropertyInvesting get the skinny.

Yes you’re quite right Jamie, it is a good way to purchase and an even better way to sell. No commission whatsoever.

Yes Dean, that’s correct. You supply your own photos and can change those any time you wish. You can have 20 images.
