Hi has anyone recently completed any sub division projects in brisbane. I am looking at purchasing an 809m block which is on 2 lots and building 2 homes.

1. does anyone know what the real cost of getting sewerage/ electricity is? Also council fees

I'm wishing to build a small unit in my backyard to reduce my mortgage. I have spoken to few architects/ draftsman and been given mixed views about it (some said they have also discussed the matter with council on my behalf).

Subdivision approval - What's next?

Hi all,

We've just settled on a house in Perth that came with approval to subdivide the front off the land.

the subdivision has the normal conditions like getting water and power hooked up, septics etc - and for the subdivision to be fully 'done' these things have to be met.

starting renovations before settlement

Obviously it would be beneficial if you could access your investment property to start the renovations prior to settlement so that come settlement it is possibly ready to rent out straight away.

Hi there, new to this forum.
I have a double-storey brick house in Tempe, NSW. It was built in the 70's, and inside is like two apartments - 2 bedroom, lounge, kitchen, bathroom, balcony on the top floor, and the same on the bottom floor. The top floor has both an internal and external staircase, and both share a small lobby from the front door.

hey folks,

renovating a property which has had a house fire and been burnt... looking for a very modern, "clean" finish and will most likely go with 'grey pebble' half strength on the walls, as used it in the last reno and loved the look. Most of the house has jarrah floorboards which will be sanded and polished for the first time. 2 bedrooms will have carpet and 1 lounge will be tiled.

I have a fair amount of space under my house, plan to build in underneath to make it fully self contained. It's got an existing deck kind of thing there, and just needs dirt to be dug out so it's level.

Just about to renovate a property i have just wondering if gyprocking the internal walls makes a big difference in value adding? I have three bedrooms each with a wall that is just bricks. If so is it expensive? Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

If you purchased a fairly modern apartment (2-3 bedroom) for $300-350k what renovations generally add value if you were hoping to renovate over a year and then rent it out? Thanks :)
