but Richard, $50k for 3 weeks part time work for 2 agents? Come on.

For $50k, I would expect 4 dedicated people for 3 weeks.

I think a sliding scale is still suitable. The higher they get the more they get.

1% is more aligned. $14k to sell my house ($1.4m), for 3 weeks work.

Am I the only one that thinks this is a more fair figure?

  • vyaw2003 started the topic Commission to sell my property in Brisbane in the forum Buy, Swap & Sell 3 years, 10 months ago

There were some discussions on Sales Commissions on this forum but they were over 10 years old so I thought I would start a new discussion.

I am about to put my $1.4m property on the market in Brisbane. A Real Estate agent is kidding himself if he thinks I am paying him 3.5% to sell my property ($49,000).

What is a more reasonable price for a…[Read more]

If your unit block is new it might have individual water meters, if not you will be paying. If there are meters that might only save you $80 per unit per quarter.

BC – well this depends, a brand new set of units you buy off a builder may not have the BC stood up yet. You as the sole owner can run it without the BC in-place. But you will need…[Read more]

nice tip, under 6 months, that fits with our plans, so we would have to rent the house for a maximum of 5 months per year. And we can live in it for the remaining 7 months of each year?

    Hello,
My long term plan was to fully own 4+ houses outright, move out of one of these, relocate to Asia and live comfortably off rent $2,400/w. Unfortunately I had not taken into account Principle Place of residence and land tax.
What is the most economical way to get around this issue.
If I rent out the house I am in now, it was cost me an…[Read more]

Anyone got a good solution in a Kitchen for where an old wood fire oven goes? I am trying to replace the kitchen, but not sure who I should fill in where the old oven once went. The current hole is about 1.6m high, not high enough for a fridge.

I can help you with this. If you are a small time operator, it is not worth your time effort and money. Not unless you are buying enough to build a Meriton and are filling 20 containers.

My friend imports to building materials for apartments into Fiji, but that is because he cannot buy locally.

I bought building tools into Australia, only half a…[Read more]

    Hi,
I have a 65sqm qlder that needs gap filling and painting. Ceiling and walls to be done.
Any idea of how long it take per sqm or per room?
    How many tubs per room?
Condition – each vj has a gap and is bad as you could possibly imagine.
I am hoping someone can say, 3 hrs per bedroom and 10 tubes per room, just to give me an idea of what I am up…[Read more]

I am looking at setting up a trust for me to buy a new property (lower tax rate).
I am just working out my finances now for the deposit.
Would I be best to pay the minimum deposit? Or pay 50% of the purchase price as deposit (as I have the cash to also do this)?
What are the general advantages of each and which is the best way to go on this?

I am looking at buying a Commercial Shed on the Sunshine/Gold Coast. Less than 200sqm. There are a few sitting empty in the local estate that I am looking to purchase. What would the risk be of it sitting empty for years? Just keep lowering the price until it is leased I guess?

I am going to get an Ikea kitchen. There is a $100 service to glue an underneath sink to stone bench.
I figure I can do this myself. Do I need $50 special epoxy stone glue from Bunnings, Or can I just use silicon?
