SellingKavita [48 Posts] Hi, I wanted to know whether it is worth putting in fancy light fixtures, timber venetians, netural carpets and paints. Does it really affect the price a lot? Is it better to have the property vacant or occupied ...ie furniture or not? tenants etc. Has anyone sold properties themselves (ie private sales)?? Any advise would be helpful. Billfromoz [389 Posts] Hi Kavita... Your property will generally sell better if furnished. That is, a lived in look, BUT very neat and tidy.Remove personal items...like family photos etc. As for new carpets, paint, timber venetians etc... depends on your price and competition. First impression is critical....the gardens/grounds should reflect a much cared for property. VERY difficult to sell a tenanted property, unless you have an excellent relationship with a cooperative tenant. Your advert is VERY important. People WILL read long copy. I will be sending you an example later this evening or tomorrow. Cheers Billfromoz |
