Eastern Canadamapleleaf [51 Posts] Hi everyone, I'm Canadian (surprise surprise), and my husband and I are moving back there at the end of the yr. Having started PI in Oz, we have no idea what the situation is like over there. Does anyone have any experience in Eastern Canada? What are the returns like? Is there much going on over there? What stage in the cycle are they in at the moment? Thanks for any comments! Mapleleaf Achieve the Dream! adambc [146 Posts] Hi everyone, I'm "the husband". We'll try looking him up and send him a PM. When we go back to Canada at the end of this yr, we will certainly stay tuned to this forum, so we'll keep you informed of how we go over there! Regards, Adam Don't let life get in the way of living. adambc [146 Posts] Well - no luck looking him up. So AlmostBob - if you're out there, please drop me a line! I would really appreciate hearing from you! Cheers, Adam Don't let life get in the way of living. westan [1966 Posts] Hi Mapleleaf i was in Canada in Ju8ne (on holiday but i still check out the property market) I found it difficult for myself to get finnace, it was near impossible for me an Aussie to get finnace through Scottia Bank (didn't try any others) Toronto seamed expensive but there were cheaper properties around (depends what your strategy is) One city i think it was London had a large University and had some cheaper home (looked attractive). Let me know if there are specific cities you are after and i'll go through my files. the listing site for Canada is www.mls.ca all the best regards westan Over 100 deals done in the USA in 2005 adambc [146 Posts] Westan, Thanks very much for your reply. Finance shouldn't be too big a problem for my lovely wife (who's Canadian), so there's one box ticked (hopefully!). We're interested in Nova Scotia (which is where she's from), so if you have any details from that part of the world we would most appreciate it. I'll also have a good look at the website you suggested - thanks! Cheers! Adam Don't let life get in the way of living. |
