Does anybody know much about the current stamp duty consessions in QLD?mpertile [55 Posts] Hi, My wife and I are looking to purchase a PPOR. We rent currently. I have not previously owned a PPOR, but my wife has, which disqualifies us for the first home owners grant, or so I am led to believe. I was wondering however whether we would still qualify for the stamp duty concession in QLD, which allows you to purchase a PPOR up to $500k without having to pay stamp duty? I own some investment properties in my personal name only, and my wife and I also own other investment properties together as trustees in a discretionary trust. Thanks. Qlds007 [8897 Posts] If you purchase as a couple you will not qualify for the Qld stamp duty concession. Might be away around it by buying in her name and you act as Guarantor but many lenders wont like that despite the obvious relationship. Qlds007 [8897 Posts] My apologies i have reread your original post and stand corrected. Neither of you will qualify for the Stamp Duty concession as both of you have owned a residential property previously one of you owning a previous PPOR and the other a previous IP.
