Cookie Problems?
If you're getting errors on the web-site such as:
- Your shopping cart is always empty, no matter what you seem to add, or;
- You log into PropertyInvesting.com and within moments you get logged out...
It's likely that the issue lies with your Cookie Settings
What are Cookies?
They're a delicious baked treat of course!
But in computer terms, Cookies are little messages which web-sites are able to place on your computer. They serve a variety of purposes, but on most sites (including PropertyInvesting.com) they serve as an electronic 'sticky-note', helping your computer to remember small pieces of information.
PropertyInvesting.com uses cookies to help your computer to remember it's logged in to our web-site, or to remember what you're buying when you're mid-way through a purchase on our online shop.
Some web-sites use them to track what you do on the internet for market research purposes. Because a lot of people like to keep this information private, sometimes they increase their cookie security settings to block all cookies.
The unfortunate by-product of this is that 'nice' cookies (such as PropertyInvesting.com's) aren't able to get through - and that's when errors can start popping up.
So how do I allow PropertyInvesting.com to place a cookie on my computer?
Both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Netscape allow you to block certain types of Cookies from being placed on your computer, and allow other sorts of cookies.
- For Internet Explorer:
- Click on the Tools menu option up the top of the screen, then
- Select the Internet Options from this menu.
- Click on the Privacy tab.
- You'll see a slider which has a whole series of options. Move this down until it says Medium or Low.
- Click OK.
- For Netscape and other Mozilla-based browsers:
- Click on the Edit menu option up the top of the screen, then
- Select the Preferences choice from this menu.
- Double-click on the Privacy & Security heading on the list on the left side of this window.
- Select the Cookies sub-heading.
- Select click on the little circle on the left of the option which says Enable cookies based on privacy settings. It should now have a black dot inside it.
- Then click the View option on the right hand side of this text.
- Choose Medium
- Then press OK
- Then OK again
This should solve the problem.
